Protests grow young people in Spain ahead of elections
Israel has tightened security on the Golan Heights today, sending soldiersand policemen in the northern region and denying access to non-residents, said the Israeli army told AFP. The Golan Heights is a Syrian territory that Israel has occupied since 1967.
The army arranged additional soldiers and set up temporary checkpointsto restrict access to the area amid fears that protesters could repeat thePalestinian protests last Sunday, when dozens of them broke through afence and defense entered from Syria.
A military spokesman confirmed that additional security measures weretaken on Friday, traditionally a day of protest in the Muslim world. "Theborder fence is a military zone, to approach it is prohibited and potentiallydangerous, " said the spokesman.
"The decision to declare a closed military zone on the Golan Heights weretaken in accordance with real-time analysis of the situation and will bereconsidered as circumstances progress. " The information is of DowJones.
